Last Revised: January 25, 2015 (Updated “Money Matters.”)

Welcome to BET and I look forward to traveling with you. My tours are personal-I either put them together in their entirety or in collaboration with an incoming tour company. I come along on every tour to make sure all goes well. If you are like most people who travel with me, this is not the first trip you have taken outside the USA. However, please take the time to read this document in its entirety anyway. Do not see it as a “my way or the highway” but instead as a compilation of things that have worked for me and previous BET travelers. Most of the suggestions are of the common sense variety – you will read them and think, “well I knew that already.” But read on, you may find some things you never considered before. After the tour, you may have some suggestions for additions or deletions.

I’ve divided this document into three parts–Preparation, On Tour, and Money Matters. The first part deals with your preparation before the tour, the second with behavioral aspects while on tour, and the third section deals with the business end of BET.

I prefer to do my work before the tour, not on the tour. I lived in Europe for over twelve years and have put together over 70 tours. I strive to stay current with what works, what doesn’t. Thanks for letting me share some of my travel insights with you.
